We turned our daughter's real kindergarten adventures — community walks to Canoe Landing, the school concert, the field trip to Evergreen Brick Works — into personalized bedtime audio stories. Every child hears their own name.
Our daughter is in the Rainbow kindergarten class at Jean Lumb Public School (JLPS) in CityPlace, Toronto. Her teachers — Mr. Zak and Shelagh — take the class on incredible adventures through the city.
One night, she came home buzzing about hexagons at Canoe Landing Park. She could not stop talking about the shapes she found — on the climbing frame, on the boardwalk tiles, on the windows of condos. That night, instead of reading a random storybook, we thought: what if she could listen to her OWN adventure at bedtime?
So we wrote it down. Exactly as she told us. Then we added her name into the story. Then we narrated it with a warm AI voice. She fell asleep hearing her own name, reliving her own day.
We wrote two more. And suddenly we had a 3-episode bedtime series.
"That night, remember the field trip. The turtles who share their sunny rocks. The bats who eat mosquitoes. The baby turtles who crawl to water all by themselves. The world is full of tiny creatures in tiny homes, right next to ours."
Mr. Zak claps twice. Shelagh holds up the buddy rope. "Rainbow class! Community walk to Canoe Landing Park! We're going on a shape hunt!"
The kids walk from Jean Lumb PS through CityPlace to Canoe Landing Park. They find hexagons on the climbing frame, circles on the boardwalk, triangles on the pavilion roof. Every shape becomes a game. Every discovery becomes a cheer.
The episode teaches observation — noticing the world around you. The shapes were always there. The kids just needed someone to help them see.

Listen Free →The Rainbow batch has been practicing for three weeks. Their very first concert at Jean Lumb Public School. The song: "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.
Mr. Zak tells them why they chose it: "Louis Armstrong wrote this to remind us there is beauty everywhere — trees, skies, rainbows, friends. That's what we want to share tonight."
Twenty kids in homemade Earth hats sing together. Some loud, some whispery, all together. Every parent in the audience cries. The episode teaches courage — standing up in front of everyone and sharing what you practiced, even when your voice shakes.

Listen Free →The first REAL field trip. At 9:15am, two kindergarten classes board the yellow school bus outside Jean Lumb Public School. Mr. Zak and Shelagh count heads. Two parent volunteers wear orange vests.
At Evergreen Brick Works, they discover a world of tiny creatures: painted turtles sharing sunny rocks, dragonflies with four wings, bats who eat 1,000 mosquitoes every night, and baby turtles who crawl to water all by themselves — without anyone teaching them how.
The episode teaches wonder — the world is full of incredible things happening right next to us. All we need to do is step carefully and look closely.
When your kid hears "That night, Arjun, remember the shapes..." — they light up. It's not some random story. It's THEIR adventure. The app replaces {childName} with whatever name you set during signup.
Mr. Zak and Shelagh are the actual Rainbow class teachers at JLPS. Canoe Landing Park is the real park next to the school. Evergreen Brick Works is the real field trip destination. Nothing is made up.
These stories play as bedtime audio. No video. No animation. No blue light. Dim the lights, press play, and let the voice do the work. Each episode is 2-3 minutes. Most kids are asleep before it ends.
We uploaded actual photos from the community walks and field trips. Swipe through them in the app while listening — or just close your eyes and imagine.
Each episode is narrated by warm, natural-sounding voices — not robotic text-to-speech. The voices are selected to match the gentle bedtime tone. Episode 1 is narrated by Muskaan (Hindi-accented warmth), Episode 2 by George (calm British storyteller), Episode 3 by Lily (soft and dreamy).
If your child is in the Rainbow class (or any class at Jean Lumb PS), these stories are for you. Your kid will hear their own name in a story about their own school, their own teachers, their own field trips.
It's free. Sign up, enter your child's name, and press play. That's it.
And if your child has a favourite moment from this year that we didn't write about — tell us. We'll write it. Every real adventure deserves to be a bedtime story.
We built this for our daughter's class, but the template works for any school. If you're a parent or teacher at another Toronto school and want to turn your kids' adventures into bedtime stories, become a creator on My Sleepy Tale.
Write the stories. We handle the voice narration, the cover art, and the app. Your stories earn credits every time someone listens.
Yes. Completely free. No ads, no subscription required. Sign up, enter your child's name, play.
No! Any child can listen. The stories are about universal experiences — shape hunts, school concerts, field trips. But JLPS kids will recognize their teachers and places.
During signup, you enter your child's name. The app inserts it into every story. "That night, Veda, remember..." becomes "That night, YOUR_CHILD, remember..."
Yes! Go to the Creation tab and write your own series. We handle narration and publishing. Full guide here.
If JLPS parents want more, we'll write them. Tell us your child's favourite school memory and we'll turn it into an episode.
